I discovered CrossFit at 39, thinking I needed another way to exercise – I was a real ‘cardio queen’ who grew up in the 90’s being told I needed to ‘burn calories’ to ‘get lean and toned’, and felt like I was constantly beating myself up for not looking a certain way. What I found was something much more powerful — a shift from focusing on how my body looked to appreciating what it could do.

That experience changed my relationship with fitness and health. I learned that strength, confidence, and wellbeing aren’t built through quick fixes or perfect motivation, but through consistency, support, and showing up for yourself day after day.

As co-owner of CrossFit Affinity, I’m passionate about creating a place where people feel welcome, supported, and capable of more than they realise. My favourite part of what we do is seeing members achieve things they once thought were out of reach and discovering the confidence that comes from becoming stronger, fitter, and healthier.
